The Employee of the Year award is given each year to recognize an outstanding classified or professional employee in the College of Natural Resources. The recipient is recognized at the CNR Awards Banquet every spring semester.
Criteria
The CNR tradition is to have last year’s Employee of the Year head a committee of the previous two recipients to select the current year’s candidate.
- Nominees must be serving in a three-quarter to full-time position in the College of Natural Resources and have worked in the CNR for at least two years
- May be either classified or professional; faculty are not eligible
- Winners from the last five years are not eligible:

Nominations and all support materials need to be turned in to the Dean’s Office.
After making a selection, please meet with the Dean to ensure that he verifies eligibility and approves of the candidate before announcing our nomination.
Nomination Procedure and Materials
Nominations for this Award are solicited from CNR faculty and staff and reviewed by the CNR Employee of the Year Selection Committee. The Committee is headed by the Employee of the Year of the previous year.
- Nominations accepted from any CNR faculty or staff member
- Nomination packet includes:
- Letter from nominator, highlighting nominee's attributes per the evaluation criteria
- Letter of endorsement from nominee's department head
- Letter from nominator, highlighting nominee's attributes per the evaluation criteria
Nomination packets are due to Brian Bailey by February 13.
