This award was established in 1997 in recognition of the enduring legacy of the late Professor Allen W. Stokes and his University of Wisconsin mentor, Aldo Leopold.
The award is given to a Wildlife graduate student in the Wildland Resources Department who is in the last year or so of his or her program and would benefit from a private office with a phone. The office contains the original desk, filing cabinet, chair and framed pictures from Allen Stoke’s original office in CNR. The office is designated by a plaque in the hall and the winner of this award is announced at the CNR awards banquet.
The Department of Wildland Resources will choose the graduate student recipient for this office and forward the name to the Dean’s office prior to the CNR Awards banquet.
