This award was established in memory of Terri Lynn Steel, a USU Fisheries and Wildlife graduate student from 1986 to 1988.  Terri was completing her master's thesis on habitat relationships of bighorm sheep at Capitol Reef National Park when she suffered a rupture of a cerebral aneurysm.

Criteria

Graduate student recipients of the Terri Lynn Steel Scholarship should be majoring in the Department of Watershed Science or in Wildland Resources in the College of Natural Resources. 
The award is based on:

• Evidence of hard work, superior dedication and persistence in graduate studies
• Evidence of dedication to the field of wildlife and fisheries,
  
• Evidence of involvement in professional activities (e.g., professional societies, student organizations),
  
• Demonstrated love of books (e.g.,  a personal library)

Award amount:  up to $400.
