The Recreation Resource Management program is aimed at students interested in managing outdoor recreation settings, such as public forests and rangelands, state and national parks, and wilderness areas. An understanding of both the land itself and the people who visit these areas is required. Opportunities are available to work as environmental interpreters, recreation planners, park rangers, trail crew supervisors, ski area employees, visitor center directors, wilderness rangers, and similar occupations. Graduate study provides additional opportunities for research and teaching in higher education, as well as in the private and government sectors.
