Applied Hydraulics** 3
Basic fluid mechanics applied to wildland watershed systems and directed
at nonengineering students. Explores nature of fluid state, fluid motion, and
steady uniform and varied flow in open channels, under both subcritical and
supercritical conditions. Surveys concepts of boundary layers, turbulence,
convection, dispersal, and wave formation in unsteady flows. Emphasizes
problem formulation and solving. Prerequisites: WATS 5490/4490; MATH 2280
(recommended). Also taught as CEE 6520. (Sp)
**Taught 2007-2008.
