Graduate Students
I am currently recruiting graduate students at the Masters or Ph.D. level for 2009 and beyond. If you have interests in wetland plant ecology, invasive species ecology and management, or wetland restoration, please contact me (karin.kettenring [at] usu.edu). Students have the latitude to develop their own research projects as long as they relate to the broad wetland-related research questions that my lab addresses. Students will be expected to apply for additional funding to supplement their fellowship and lab support.
Northern Utah offers fantastic wetland resources for basic and applied research such as salt marshes of the Great Salt Lake, seasonal playas, subalpine sedge meadows, and riparian wetlands.
Students may receive their degrees either through the Department of Watershed Sciences or the Ecology Center. Students are expected to meet the minimum admission requirements outlined by the School for Graduate Studies although most students greatly exceed these requirements. Students must apply both to the School for Graduate Studies as well as the Quinney Fellowship program.
To apply, please email me your C.V., a 1-page statement of research interests, your GRE scores and GPA, and contact information for 3 references.
