Huey Johnson
USU alum. Career recognition includes the President's Award for Sustainable Development in 1996. The pinnacle of his career came when he was awarded the prestigious Sasakawa Prize in 2001, the annual environment award given by the United Nations to honor an individual somewhere in the world who has made outstanding contributions to the management and protection of the environment.  He also the recipient of a 2009 Cornelius Amory Puglsey Medal from the National Park Foundation and the American Academy of Park and Recreation Administration, founder the Trust for Public Lands, the Grand Canyon Trust, the Resource Renewal Institute, the Environmental Liaison Center in Nairobi, Kenya, Defense of Place and the Aldo Leopold Society.  He is also the author of Green Plans:  Greenprint for Sustainability.
