The Student Subunit of the Bonneville Chapter of the American Fisheries Society is a group of undergraduate andgraduate students who have an interest in fisheries and aquatic ecology. The mission of the American Fisheries Society is to improve the conservation and sustainability of fishery resources and aquatic ecosystems by advancing fisheries and aquatic science and promoting the development of fisheries professionals. |
| Annual field activities our student subunit members have participated in locally include transferring salmon fly (Pteronarcys californica) nymphs from the Blacksmith Fork to the Logan River, fish sampling in the Logan River, riparian revegetation on Spawn Creek, leading a tour of the Porcupine Reservoir kokanee spawn for challenged individuals, and assisting with the Bear River Celebration. We also host casual “brown bag” seminars throughout the academic year with an emphasis on local and regional aquatic research, and watershed science. | ![]() |
