Society of American Foresters

The USU Forestry Club, or USU Student Chapter of the Society of American Foresters, is an informal group of people interested in forestry and its related fields.  Our goal is to advance the science, technology, education, and practice of professional foresters, and to use the knowledge and skill of the profession to benefit society.

The club sponsors several activities throughout the year that allow us to expand our knowledge, as well as get to know each other, and have a little (or a lot) of fun. Annual events include an opening social, a Christmas tree cut, a winter sports day, the Loggers Ball, Natural Resource week activities, and a closing social. Ongoing projects include Adopt-A-Highway in Wellsville canyon, monthly trips to Ogden to attend Society of American Foresters meetings, and sponsoring speakers on campus.

The Forestry club is open to any student with an interest in forestry (you don't have to be a forestry major) and membership is FREE. All you have to do to be a member is participate in any or all of our activities throughout the year. Upcoming events will be advertised on the Society of American Foresters board in the Natural Resources Atrium, and fliers will be posted in the Natural Resources and the Biology buildings. If you are interested in getting involved with the club, drop by the club office (NR112), e-mail nradvise@cc.usu.edu, or call 435-797-1270. We would love to hear your ideas and have you participate in the club. We hope to see you during the upcoming year!!!
