Utah State University students, faculty, and staff are eligible to check out Quinney library materials. Visitors are eligible for limited checkout privileges with an annual $25.00 registration.

Materials may be renewed for an additional three weeks if they are not on hold for another patron. Renewal of books may be done in the library, online through the Merrill-Cazier library's web page, or over the telephone by calling the circulation desk at 435-797-2464. Materials may be renewed twice for a total checkout time of 9 weeks. Fines for circulating materials are 25 cents per day with a maximum of $10.00. Lost books will have a minimum fee of $60.00.

*Some materials have a limited checkout period regardless of patron status while others are in-house use only.

DVDs, CD-ROMs, and videos are checked out for 7 days and cannot be renewed. Fines for videos are two dollars ($2.00) a day. Lost charges for any electronic resources are $100.00 plus a $10.00 service fee.

Environmental Education trunks are checked out for 2 weeks and cannot be renewed, however, with proper ID these trunks can be borrowed by any person. Replacement charges will be applied to any damaged or missing item in the trunk. These charges can be as high as $150 depending on the item.

Materials placed on reserve at the request of a professor may be borrowed for 2 hours, 24 hours, or three days, depending on the item. Reserve materials may be checked out overnight if the items are checked out less than 1 hour before closing. Fines for reserve materials are 10 cents per minute with a maximum of $10.00

Reference items, maps, and journals can be used in-house only. Copy machines are available for both black/white and color coping.

As a library patron, you are responsible for any material that you check out from the Quinney Library as well as all fines and book replacement fees. Quinney will not checkout to proxy patrons.
